Often copied, never equaled, NYLOIL was the first oil-filled cast nylon produced in North America. Cast Nylons Limited combines our cast nylon 6 material with a carefully disbursed oil-filled lubricant that creates a high crystalline, internally homogeneously lubricated, high-strength polymer with enhanced wear and reduced friction properties. NYLOIL delivers significant advantages in applications where self-lubrication is needed. During NYLOIL’s manufacturing process, an oil lubricant package is completely dispersed within the cast nylon matrix where oil droplets fill gaps in the amorphous structure of the polymer. This allows less room for water to be absorbed thereby creating a material with improved dimensional stability over regular grades of cast nylon. NYLOIL stabilizes at approximately 2.5% moisture content – less than half the moisture content of other unfilled nylons.

In addition to superior machinability, performance and durability, NYLOIL’s built-in lubrication results in a 25% lower coefficient of friction than other grades of nylon. NYLOIL performs well as a bearing material and in harsh environments where lubrication is difficult, impossible or not desirable (food contact).

NYLOIL is offered in three material grades depending on your application needs.

Standard Grade – NYLOIL^®. Fits most applications where self-lubrication, dimensional stability and enhanced wear is desirable.
Premium Grade – NYLOIL^® MDX. Fits most applications where self-lubrication, dimensional stability, enhanced wear and higher compressive loads is needed.
Food Grade – NYLOIL^® FG. Fits most applications where self-lubrication, dimensional stability and enhanced wear is desirable, and direct contact with foods is a concern.
